Woven of light and foam

Woven of light and foam

You can always see larger versions of the image by clicking on it to go to its lightbox page at Smugmug.

Light and sea foam, pretty insubstantial stuff, but in the right combination they make a compelling (or at least interesting) image. This image makes me take a second, and a third, look. What’s going on, exactly? What is it? Bit of mystery. Bit of challenge. But still coherent enough not to be dismissed outright. (imho).

Using the H50s swing out lcd again to get right down on the beach for this shot. (I have learned to gather up the loops of strap and dangling lens cap if I don’t want to spend 15 minutes getting the sand off before putting the camera back in its bag.)

Sony DSC H50 at full wide (31mm equivalent). F5.6 @ 1/2000 @ ISO 100. Programed Auto.

In Lightroom, some Recovery to pull back the highlights, added Clarity and Vibrance, and Landscape sharpen preset. I used a graduated filter effect to darken the strip of sky at the top, and cropped the image slightly at the bottom.
